Global GirlsInCS Hackathon

In September of 2022, the Global GirlsInCS Hackathon led by Sanya Gupta attracted 100+ girls in-person and 50+ girls online from as far as Brazil, Canada, and Europe. Our first day consisted of a detailed overview of what the field of computer science entails and an intro to python workshop, an opening Keynote session by the esteemed Sylvia Acevedo, an overview of HTML/CSS/JavaScript, an intro to AI and AI bias, and an intro to design with Figma! It was amazing to see how these 21 teams, joining us in-person from 12 different cities and backgrounds, came together, learned to work on a team, sorted out their differences, and built a prototype of their solution in less than 24 hours!
